I would like the option to use my own dropbox or drive storage options I already pay for.

I paid for a lifetime subscription to typing mind, but it's not lifetime if I have to pay monthly for storage. Really not happy with this aspect, I'm constantly having to delete stuff I didn't want to delete or save it elsewhere. It just makes me not even want to use typing mind any longer, or significantly limit my usage and pursue other wraps that meet my needs better. Everything else I have liked, but the storage issue must be addressed. I'm not paying $50 or $60 across multiple storage platforms every month.

Unfortunately I’ve had had to move a lot of my work flow to openwebui.. it’s free, open source, has built in rag and huge open source community.

Have a look at Bolt AI - it has some neat features over TypingMind and you can sync via iCloud, Google Drive etc. I'm in the process of moving everything over and they currently have a WWDC discount of 25% off. It's also available on Setapp by the way. I really like the inline features, which means I can do stuff from other applications. And so far it seems to be as good as TypingMind and has a few features missing, but then has other features which TypingMind doesn't have. But most importantly for me is no monthly fees to sync.

I can see why from a business perspective it's hard for them to justify it: requires extra work to support external storage, more error situations (what if your drive runs out of space?), and less revenue opportunity. But I agree that $10 for 1gb is quite exagerrated.

Ionut Georgian Ciobanu As others have said I think this would drive users to use another app that allows external sync and that would probably take the backup formats of TypingMind to make migration easy, and if they realize that their purchase-once model cannot be sustained they can always change it for new users to something else.

Same here. Started using Elephas again, which has also come a long way and does not have these limitations. Very frustrating that the Typing Mind team doesn't seem to care, or maybe that is the business model. They could solve the issue so quickly by charging a storage fee per year of $10 or $20, or increase the cloud storage to at least a usable amount.

Jump on some of the other opinions on this. The higher the rank, the more hope they will do something about this

This is an ongoing issue that they won’t address.
